“Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis…A disease that ‘takes your breath away’”
Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) is a condition in which lung tissue becomes scarred, thickened, and stiff, making it difficult for a person to breathe. Once diagnosed, the median survival rate of someone with PF is under three years. To date there is no known cause, no FDA-approved treatment and no cure for PF. With an estimated 40,000 people dying each year from PF (the same number of annual deaths as breast cancer). MollyK.org was formed to raise awareness and increase funds for research of PF, and we were eager to help them boost visibility as much as possible.
Connection to Brandify
Mollyk.org was founded by Nip Zalavadia, Brandify’s VP of Business Development, in memory of his mother-in-law, Mradula “Molly” Kalathia, who struggled with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Molly was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in February 2003. Once diagnosed, her condition worsened rapidly over three years, leaving her bedridden and in need of constant care. In June of 2005, Molly decided apply for a transplant. The process was long and after three weeks of being on the recipient list, Molly bravely lost her battle to IPF.
“We started MollyK.org to raise awareness and funds for Pulmonary Fibrosis in hopes of finding a cure for this disease. This past year we partnered with the Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Program at Inova Fairfax hospital to raise funds for their research group with our 3rd annual MollyK 5K . Dr. Steven Nathan is the man in charge of their research program, and was the doctor who treated my mother-in-law.” - Nip Zalavadia, VP of Business at Brandify
What we did to help
In addition a monetary donation to the MollyK 5K, we wanted to help the MollyK website gain more visibility online. Since MollyK was created by a team of family members and their sole mission is to find a cure, all donations contributed to MollyK.org go directly to research. We connected with our SEO specialists to sift through the website and ensure that every title tag, meta description, schema markup, and other critical SEO factors go above and beyond to get this organization and cause the visibility it deserves.
“For a cause like this, it's important to expand your reach and in this day in age the internet is the best platform to spread awareness. I was honored to work on this project.” - Kevin Dao, SEO Specialist at Brandify
