Marketing is not the same as it once was. The world of digital and mobile is taking marketing efforts to new and exciting places, and at Where 2 Get It we work to stay on top of the latest technology and innovations. And that’s what this blog series is all about: Bringing together new technological capabilities with the human insight that customers appreciate. This week we’re looking at social media and how businesses can utilize social media as a way to increase customer engagement. Social Engagement is one of the Six Pillars that make up the foundation of a company's Brand Score, so it's important to evaluate how well a brand is performing on social media.

Do your social media accounts reflect the voice and personality of your brand and/or business? Is your business’ NAP (name, address, phone number) accurately reflected on social media? How are people reacting to your brand on Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms? These are scenarios when Brandify is best utilized to help streamline your digital marketing efforts. And for businesses with multiple locations (tens, hundreds, even thousands of locations) it’s important to make sure that your social media presence reflects how you want to be viewed by new and recurring customers. Brandify helps businesses scale locally even on social media!

The “kingpin” of social media, this platform started it all. Originally a website for college students, Facebook has expanded to 1.23 billion users as of its 10th anniversary in February of 2014. More relevant to digital marketing is the study that came out last year stating that “90% of consumers would recommend a brand to others after interacting with them on social media.”

As a business, one of the first things you should to do is claim any and all brick and mortar locations that might already be listed on Facebook: Like Yelp and Google Maps, business locations that are listed on Facebook can be utilized by users for reviews, check-ins, and mapping. Multi-location businesses can even have a Facebook page for each location. Brandify will alert you to any duplicate listings on Facebook that may exist for your business. The Brandify dashboard will also scan each Facebook page associated with your business and monitor reviews, check-ins, and the general buzz as people talk about your brand.

Foursquare is another one of the Big Six that Where 2 Get It and Brandify pay close attention to. Foursquare was one of the first platforms to introduce the "check in" feature that so many people use to notify their social network know where they've been. Brandify can track Likes and Checkins on Foursquare (and other platforms) for each business location to give companies a better picture of how people are locally getting in touch with brands on social media.

Brandify truly does encompass all the benefits of the latest marketing technology, while also remaining true to the tradition of human insight that allows marketing efforts to resonate with consumers. Social media is all about dialogue, and brands need to be aware of how they are perceived by the public and how that is reflected through their conversations on social media. In addition to Facebook and Foursquare, Brandify also evaluates and monitors LinkedIn, Youtube, and Google+.
